1.enter的基本含義是從外邊到里邊,以人作主語時指“走進(jìn)”“進(jìn)入”,以物作主語時指取路通過某物,特指過密的、有阻力的物質(zhì)。enter引申可指進(jìn)入某一時代或階段,如某一學(xué)業(yè)、經(jīng)歷或程序的開始等; 也可表示參加某一團(tuán)體或組織,成為其中的一員。

　　2.enter可用作不及物動詞,也可用作及物動詞。

　�。�1）用作及物動詞時接名詞或代詞作賓語,也可接以“(as+) n. ”充當(dāng)補(bǔ)足語的復(fù)合賓語。

　　In our country, children enter school at the age of six.

　　在我國孩子們六歲上學(xué)。

　　I could not enter the university.

　　我進(jìn)不了該所大學(xué)。

　　The headmaster entered, followed by some teachers.

　　校長進(jìn)來了,后面跟著幾個老師。

　　They stopped talking as soon as they saw him enter.

　　他們一見他進(jìn)來就停止了談話。

　　3.enter可用作系動詞,接形容詞作表語。

　　4.enter后接介詞for可表示“參加”; 接in可表示“收入”“記入”“使入學(xué)”; 接into可表示“參與某活動”“進(jìn)入某種狀態(tài)”; 接on可表示“進(jìn)入某時期、年代”“著手處理”“開始考慮”; 接up則表示“記下”。

　　5.用作賓補(bǔ)動詞 S+～+ pron. +(as) n.

　　They entered him (as) a member.

　　他們吸收他為會員。
