dispute指“激烈爭(zhēng)辯”，含有“相持不下”或“未得解決”之意，如：

　　他是否當(dāng)選為主席，仍然有爭(zhēng)論。

　　They have won previous pay disputes with the government

　　在先前和政府的工資糾紛中他們贏了。

　　argue著重“說理”、“論證”和“企圖說服”，如：

　　I argued with her for a long time，but she refused to listen to reason.

　　我和她辯論了好久，但她還是不聽。

　　Don't argue with me

　　別和我爭(zhēng)辯。

　　They are arguing over foreign policy

　　他們正就外交政策進(jìn)行討論。
